Day 10 - Foods to Help Spring Clean Your Stress

We’re working to spring clean some stress this week! Today, we’re focusing on stress buffering foods. All of these help to replenish and boost vitamins, minerals and fluids that stress can impact.

•Berries, Any Berries

•Avocados

•Nuts

•Oranges

•Salmon and other Fatty Fish

•Chia Seeds and Flaxseed

•Spinach

•Broccoli

•Asparagus

•Dark Chocolate (70% or more) and keep your portions to 1 oz or less

•Whole grains like oatmeal, farro, bran, brown rice

•Beans and lentils

  • Eggs high in Omega-3s

Don’t forger Water too!

Sometimes when we’re feeling tired, nausea, unfocused, high blood pressure, mood swings, we actually may need some water. Stress speeds up our fluid output

Wondering how much is enough? The Institute of Medicine recommends we drink the following amount of fluid:

•9 cups of fluid for women

•13 cups of fluid for men

•½ of the fluid should be water

But, you can also just check the color of your urine. It should be the color of lemonade.

Do your best today and every day to increase water and these foods to buffer against the effects of stress!
