Welcome to a brand new year!
You’ve probably been hearing a lot of ideas about what you “should”do in the new year. Or, perhaps you’ve been reading the endless number of lists - 10 ways to change your life in 2017, 10 new health trends to try in 2017, 10 foods to eat in 2017, 10 foods not to eat in 2017, etc. They seem to be everywhere right now. Lists are great and fun to read. But, sometimes, I think they can distract us from our own list of priorities and desires.
So, today's post will be short but sweet because I want you to skip reading another list and instead create your own. Take 5 minutes right now and clarify what you’re wanting for yourself in the new year. Use these 2 questions as your guide:
1) What am I wanting for myself this year?
2) What are 3 things I can do to help make that happen?
Question #1 requires a quiet mind so try to shut out any distractions. You could go for a walk, put your kids in front of a video for 10 minutes or simply put on some noise cancelling headphones. Breathe and take 5 minutes to just think (when was the last time you did that?).
